After someone's had a tubal ligation, there are two common options for reproduction. One is to surgically reattach the tubes in a microscopic surgical procedure. The other is to bypass the tubal obstruction with in vitro fertilization. Which one's right for a couple depends on several different factors. One is the type of tubal ligation the female partner had, because some are more reversible than others. Other considerations are the age of the female partner, how many children they'd like to have, other fertility factors that could be present, and the desire to have or avoid surgery.
