Beginning The Process
Fertility center patients at our Houston area locations begin with a consultation appointment, where medical history, previous infertility workups, and prior efforts to become pregnant are carefully evaluated. Patients should bring copies of previous medical records to this initial visit so our physicians can thoroughly review them to make a proper diagnosis. This initial appointment at our fertility center in either The Woodlands, Houston, Willowbrook, Tomball, Katy, Sugar Land, or Medical Center, gives patients the opportunity to become familiar with our physicians and our staff while asking any questions or discussing any concerns about treatment. Following this consultation, our nursing staff will discuss the next steps in your treatment plan and assist you in scheduling any tests or procedures requested by your physician.
Insurance and Financial Consideration
At our fertility centers in The Woodlands, Houston, Willowbrook, Tomball, Katy, Sugar Land, or Medical Center, we know that coverage for infertility treatments depends on your insurance plan. Most health insurance plans cover only medically necessary procedures. Individual insurance providers and the specific plan selected by the subscriber’s employer determine what degree of treatment is covered. Houston Fertility Institute participates in a variety of health insurance plans, but each patient’s coverage is determined on an individual basis. At our fertility centers, we encourage our Houston area patients first to research their coverage by contacting their employer’s human resources department or insurance company to request an explanation of specific benefits. Then we make a financial counselor available to assist patients in assessing coverage. Patients often need to supplement insurance benefits to defer the costs of infertility treatments.
