Dr. Griffith Heads to Washington D.C. – AGAIN!

Houston Fertility Institute is always looking for ways to help our patients. We believe that infertility is a disease and everyone should have access to treatment. In order to help achieve this, Dr. Jason Griffith ventured to Washington D.C., once again, to meet with Texas Congressmen, Senators, and representatives to explain the Family Act Tax Credit for IVF and get their support.

The Family Act is a tax credit for IVF that would substantially reduce the direct out of pocket costs for patients undergoing in vitro fertilization therapy. This tax credit would apply to patients without insurance coverage for IVF as well as individuals who need fertility preservation therapy related to a medical diagnosis or treatment that would threaten their future reproductive function.

Who Dr. Griffith Met with!

Dr. Griffith was fortunate enough to meet with Texas Representatives Pete Olson (22nd district), Pete Sessions (32nd district), Gene Green (29th district), and Kenny Marchant (24th district). He also was able to meet with key staff members of Mike McCaul, Kevin Brady (8th district), and Senator Cornyn.Tex Rep Kenny Marchant and Dr Griffith meet to discuss tax credit for IVF

Dr. Griffith described his experience as very successful. He was able to get most of the representatives he met with to give him a verbal YES to supporting the Family Act and the remaining gave “strong consideration” statements.

What’s Next?

Houston Fertility Institute is so proud to have physicians like Dr. Griffith , that is willing to take personal time to go advocate for our patients. In order to keep the process going, HFI is planning on hosting a City Hall meeting where Texas Representatives will gather and our patients will have the opportunity to explain to them why the Family Act must pass.
